Abstract

Introduction. Organ and tissue transplantation is a very important, technically and organizationally complex element of an integrated approach to the treatment of a number of chronic diseases in their terminal phase.
Aim. To draw the attention of the foreign and domestic professional community to the problems and achievements in the implementation of the organ and tissue transplantation system in Ukraine, including kidney transplantation, awareness of chronic kidney disease, surgical aspects of its treatment.
Materials and methods. Organization and holding of the Ukrainian-Turkish scientific-practical conference «Transplantation», as a platform for discussing the problems and prospects of organ transplantation.
Results and its discussion. On October 15-16, 2021 in Kyiv (Ukraine), the Ukrainian-Turkish scientific and practical conference «Transplantation» was held, organized by the Bogomolets National Medical University (Kyiv, Ukraine) together with Bashkent University (Ankara, Turkey). The Ukrainian side presented its achievements in heart transplantation for adults and children, mechanical heart implantation, kidney transplantation from a relative and cadaver donor, for adults and children, liver transplantation from a cadaver donor. The Turkish colleagues presented their experience in kidney transplantation, the possibilities of interventional technologies in the postoperative period, the features of immunosuppressive therapy, and also spoke about the legal and organizational aspects of organ transplantation in Turkey.
Conclusions. The conference received positive reviews from foreign colleagues and participants from all over Ukraine. The doctors who took part in the conference noted its practical orientation and the perfection of the submitted medical information. This encourages further education, development and achievement of high results in organ transplantation in Ukraine.
